CTEK battery charger is sensitive to modes of loading schedule and is set in the wrong way or too low load may occur. The charger is made to work with a variety of programs, motorcycles, cars in cold weather normal or even so to maximize the lifetime of battery reconditioning. In some situations, the error light comes on the charger when a problem exists. Review how to use the charger and error reading lamps and power, as all three are good places to start.
- Confirm that the positive pole of the battery and the positive lead from the charger is connected, if the error light is on. The error indicator exclamation mark is displayed when this error occurs.
- Verify that the charger is connected to a 12 volt battery if the lamp remains on error.
- Press the “Mode” button to restart the charger if the error light is still on. Replace the battery, because it may not be able to take a supplement if the lamp stays on error.
- Make sure you are using the correct programming mode. Use the program small battery to charge a smaller battery, as for motorcycles, IB normal battery to charge a battery that is wet, MF, Ca / Ca, AGM or gel, the program type for Cold Weather charge a battery low temperatures.; Program and recond to charge a battery to prolong its life.
- Check that the battery being charged is a type of 12-V lead and not frozen or damaged. Check the cords before each use. If damaged, contact CTEK for replacement.
- Check the size of the battery and the charging time of application to verify that the battery charger operates correctly. It should take two hours for an empty battery 2Ah to reach an 80 percent charge, eight hours for 8 Ah battery, four hours to a battery of 20 Ah, 12 hours to 60 Ah battery, and 26 hours for a 110 Ah battery.
